When I arrived to West Ridge in August, I expected an easy year I could walk through like last year. Then when the year got started I realized it wasn’t going to be another easy year I was going to have a lot more homework and harder tests, quizzes, and projects. There were times when I thought I would overload with homework. Then, I realized later in the year if I just get my work done right away and don’t wait last minute I won’t have a lot of homework in one night.

If I would give advice to newly turning seventh I would tell them to try hard and study or you will have a very difficult year. I would also tell you to not wait last minute or you will have way to much homework. Plus, the teachers may seem to you like they are giving you to much homework but, they are on,y helping you learn for next year.

I go to something called the chapter tea for NCL or National Charity League where we help out and to charity work in are area. This is my first year doing it and it’s been interesting I got to help out at many different places like at the Zilker Park garden area where we helped pull weeds.

This weekend I have to go to a Chapter Tea where me my mom my older sister and a few other people along with my group have a fancy tea think and we talk. With NCL being a mother daughter charity activity sheiks coming. My mom thinks it’s going to be a fun great idea.

if you were only one inch tall
a hairbrush would be jail
your sister in the morning would be a giant with bad hair
It would take all your life to climb mount Everest
the ocean would be a never ending pool
it would take an hour to dial the phone
the SRAAR test would take you all year to finish
if you were one inch tall

Homage to Shel Silverstien

I took this poem by Shel Silverstien and made it my own. It was her idea but I edited it into what it know is. I did this in fourth grade for a project in my teachers class were we had to make a book full of poems.

Having a digital footprint can be a positive or negative thing depending on how you look at it. If the things online about you are positive and talk about great things you’ve done then it’s a good thing. If it talks about a bad thing you have done then it could impact your life later on. For instance if you posted something bad about a someone on Facebook and a few years later you’re applying for a job and they look you up and find that bad thing you said about the person you might not get the job. I wouldn’t want future grandchildren to search my name and find things bad I had done there.

If you have a chance to go somewhere of your choice I would chose Texas, why you might ask. Well Texas is a great fun place to visit. If you can’t find something to do look again.

There are many different reasons but one is that there are so many different places and festivals and things to do that you will never get bored. For example, you could go around the time of ACL which is a famous music festival where people from all over come to hear bands they like play some of their songs. This happens in Austin the capital of Texas. I find ACL a fun place to go if you are into music and hearing live bands.

Another reason is that there is also still places where you can take a drive and see empty fields of grass with wild flowers growing. For instance, you could also go to Zilker park and walk around. Zilker park is a place where all runners go to well… run and bikers go to bike. Zilker park also has a playground for little kids to run around in. Zilker park is a great intertwining fun place to visit if you are the outdoorsy type or just want to have some fun in the sun.

Texas has many more great qualities then the ones I listed. There are many places to see rodeos to go to and food to enjoy. So if you have a chance to see Texas no matter what part of Texas take the chance everywhere in this state is fun.

When I was younger my favorite movie was Rapunzel. I would watch it all day until my parents would make me turn it off and go do something outside. When I was watching the movie I wouldn’t notice anything that was going on around me not even when my dad was remodeling our house. Even though it has been years sense I have watched the movie I still remember what happened in the movie and all the memory’s that come along with that. If you really enjoyed a book or movie you will never forget what happens in it.

Friday was Valentine’s Day and I had a great time. I myself enjoy Valentine’s Day it’s a day to celebrate love and friendship, not just getting candy. But I also learned that not everyone may like the day they have there own opinion on the day. They might not care for Valentine’s Day or just don’t do anything on the day.

“Did you know she was held back a grade?” Gossiping may be fun, but it can be harmful.

Something as simple as talking to a friend about someone else could end up around the whole school. For instance, in the movie Mean Girls, they made a ‘Burn Book’, a book filled with hurtful gossip about everyone in the school. One day someone got the book and made copies of all the pages and filled the school with them. The girls who made the book were then hated by everyone. This shows how fast something can spread.

Also gossiping can turn into bad rumors. For example, I heard someone I thought was my friend spreading a false rumor about me. I felt like I had no true friends, I wanted to die right there. Just because you think someone can’t hear it, doesn’t mean you should say it, especially when you don’t know if it’s true.

It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. If you don’t something being said about you, don’t say it about someone else. Therefore just don’t gossip, it can turn into a big rumor, and/or hurt someone.

The blur of the crowd flashing past me. The only sound I can hear is my heart beating. My blood pumping through my veins. 10 meters, 9 meters, 8 meters the finish line is rushing towards me. 4 meters, 3 meters, 2 meters. A roar irrupts from the crowd. And suddenly the finish line is beneath my feet.

This is about winning a race when coming from behind it is the last five seconds of the moments that is expanded so the main part of the moment lasts longer. Written by: Chloe, Taylor, Riley and me Elizabeth.

Today January 24 2014 was a very rare day in Austin, Texas. That’s because IT SNOWED!! It is rare because it almost never snows here. I found it awesome because it was the day right after my birthday that it happened. I found it funny how when my dog got outside she saw the snow and started running around all energetic and crazy.
